INTERNET CONNECTION

 Internet Connection

Internet connection is the process that allows some small or large network to interconnect with each other using their computers, mobile devices and other networking technologies. We need to call the ISP(Internet Service Provider) for internet connection through various technology and wide range of data transmission speed. Once we connected to the internet, we can access any kind of information present on WWW(World Wide Web).

The internet connection technologies are developing almost every year. The most commonly available technologies for internet connection are the followings.

1- Gateway Internet Connection

Gateway internet connection is also known as level-one connection. It allows two different types of networks to interact with each other, but the user have limited access to the internet, meaning that user might not be able to use all the tools available on the internet. A service gateway module is a single mediation that handles the request for multiple service consumers and providers. Gateway Internet access enables transformation, routing and common processing across all the service.

2-Dial-up Internet Connection

Dial-up refers to an internet connection that is established using a modem. It is also termed as level-two connection. The modem connects the computer to standard phone lines. Data is transmitted through as analog phone connection, which servs as data transfer medium. User will connected to the internet by using their phone line to dial into an ISPs line. When an user initiates a Dial-up connection, the modem dials a phone number of an ISP that is designated to receive dial-up calls. Then the ISP establishes the connection within 10 seconds and it will active until the user disconnects the connection from ISP. It allows only one computer at a time and provides 56 Kbps with graphics, so this type of connection is called as ''Remote Modem Access".

3-DSL Internet Connection

DSL(Digital Subscriber Line) is a communication technology which is used to connect a computer or a router through a telephone line. It is used to transfer digital signal or use cable internet connection and can use both simultaneously. It uses dedicated pairs of copper wire to transmits data. The 30% of wire is used for voice signal and 70% of wire is used for internet access.

DSL are of two types that are ADSL(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) & SDSL(Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line). In ADSL among the 70% of internet connection there is 50% used for download and 20% used for upload & in SDSL that is 35% used for download and rest 35% is used for upload.
